Behind this media service co-financed by the EU stand two independent flood prevention projects: FRC (FloodResilienCities) and ALFA (Adaptive Land use for Flood Alleviation), covering a total of 14 cities and regions in Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Ireland.
S&L Medienproduktion is conducting interviews in the various cities and regions and gathering visual documentation of the pilot flood protection measures.
This will allow threatened cities and regions in both Germany and beyond our borders to learn about new measures for averting catastrophic flooding. The city of Mainz with its customs harbour project is the showpiece on a European level and in the context of the overall venture. Here in a potentially threatened area very innovative methods are being used to construct buildings that are safe from floodwaters.
With this new service journalists will also gain access to press reports, graphics and photos, material from international conferences on flooding and diverse moving image content.
